CHUCK KLEIN
Chuck Klein was the most prestigious slugger for the Philadelphia Phillies in the first half of the 20th century. During his 15 seasons in the City of Brotherly Love, Klein captured four home run championships, two RBI titles and the Triple Crown. Though he was unpolished as an outfielder when he first came to the majors, Klein made himself into a superb defensive right fielder. In 1930, he put together an outstanding defensive season which included 44 assists. He was named National League MVP in 1932 and inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1980.
